Midwestern University, College of Health Sciences, invites applications for the position of tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor within the APA accredited Clinical Psychology Program on the Glendale, AZ Campus. The Clinical Psychology Program adheres to a practitioner-scholar model of training and awards a Doctor of Psychology degree (PsyD) to students who complete the program. The Program operates on a quarter system and students typically complete their training, including a pre-doctoral Internship, within four years. The Program also offers a Neuropsychology track for students interested in specialized training in this area of study. Because Midwestern University offers degree opportunities in several graduate-level health care related areas, clinical students are afforded many opportunities to develop skills in integrated health and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The successful candidate should be a graduate of an APA accredited clinical psychology program (Psy.D. or Ph.D.). The ability to be licensed (or licensable) as a Psychologist in Arizona is expected. The selected candidate would have excellent communication skills and have demonstrated relevant experience in graduate level teaching, clinical practice, curricular design, and research. The Assistant Professor is expected to teach courses in personality assessment (projective and objective), professional ethics, diversity, intervention and therapy and in an area of expertise/interest. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to oversee student research and provide student advisement and mentoring. Department faculty also periodically provide supervision coverage of our students and post-doctoral fellow at our Psychology Clinic at the university’s Therapy Institute.

Salary and benefits are competitive. Rank may be negotiable and dependent upon applicant’s qualifications. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. The Clinical Psychology Program values diversity in its faculty, student body, and teaching philosophy. We strongly encourage applicants who represent diversity to consider applying for the position.
