Society for the Teaching of Psychology: Division 2 of the American Psychological Association

International Travel Grants

Call for Applications

The Society for The Teaching of Psychology (STP; Division 2 of APA) is pleased to announce its International Travel Grant Program. Consistent with our Mission Statement and the Statement on Addressing Systemic Racism and Inequity in STP (located in the STP Policies and Procedures Manual), we encourage applications from colleagues who are from underrepresented groups and have diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Grants will be awarded for travel to psychology teaching conferences (e.g., STP’s Annual Conference on Teaching or the European Psychology Learning and Teaching Conference) or have a significant psychology teaching component (e.g., the American Psychological Association Convention with its teaching-oriented programming from Division 2 [STP] and other units in APA [e.g., TOPSS, CABE, BEA, other divisions] and associated groups [e.g., Psi Alpha, Psi Beta, Psi Chi].

Applicants must be members of STP, and priority will be given to applicants who have submitted, or will be submitting, a teaching-related proposal to the conference they are seeking to attend. STP encourages applications from colleagues at all career stages who are from underrepresented groups and have diverse backgrounds and experiences.

The STP International Travel Grant Program has a total of $5,000 USD to award. We anticipate funding approximately 3 to 4 awards at a maximum of $1,500 USD each. Funds will be divided among strong applications. Although the committee will strive to fund all strong applications in full, awardees may receive only a portion of the funds they request.

All reimbursable travel expenses must comply with STP's Travel Reimbursement Guidelines.

Deadline for applications is January 15 of the travel year, 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time.

Please review the policies regarding STP awards and grant programs. Applications will be evaluated on the degree to which the applicant demonstrates that the proposed conference attendance will improve the applicant’s teaching of psychology.

Applicants will be notified of award decisions by February 15 of the travel year.
