    Open Rank Teaching Professor in the Department of Psychology

    The Department of Psychology at Florida International University (FIU) is searching for a non-tenure track full-time open-rank teaching professor position for the bachelor’s program in Behavioral Neuroscience.  The position is for 12-month full-time, non-tenure track teaching faculty. Teaching professor positions are in-unit faculty positions that are renewable annually, benefits eligible, and eligible for promotion opportunities that mirror those of tenure-track faculty. The department is a leader in pedagogical reform efforts and is focused on improving the quality of undergraduate instruction, particularly in gateway undergraduate courses that affect student success as measured by retention and on-time graduation. Candidates will be expected to perform departmental service as full-time members of the department’s faculty. A Ph.D. in psychology or related discipline is required.

     

    The department has 35+ tenure-track faculty, 20+ full-time teaching/research/clinical faculty, and 100+ Ph.D. students spread across our six doctoral specialty programs, 200+ graduate students in our master's programs, and over 5,000 undergraduate psychology majors. The department is a growing hub for neuroscience research, with a doctoral program in cognitive neuroscience established in 2014 and 18 core and affiliated faculty in neuroscience.
