    The Department of Psychology at Southeastern Louisiana University seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor tenure track position beginning in August 2024. A Ph.D. in psychology or closely related field is required by date of hire. Candidates must show a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship. The successful candidate will be expected to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in psychology, maintain an active scholarly program, supervise undergraduate and graduate student research, and perform departmental and university service. Area of specialization is open, but preference will be given to applicants with specialization in Cognitive, Experimental or Social Psychology. Preference will be to those candidates with expertise that complements the strengths of the department.

    Southeastern Louisiana University is located in Hammond, less than 50 miles from the metropolitan centers of Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Southeastern has an undergraduate enrollment of more than 13,000. The Department of Psychology has approximately 500 undergraduate majors and 30 students in our master’s degree program.
