The Department of Psychology at the UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH FLORIDA ST. PETERSBURG CAMPUS invites applications for a 9-month appointment of a tenure track scholar in SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY at the Assistant Professor level, with service to begin as early as August 7, 2024. A review of the applications will begin on November 15, 2023. Applications received after November 15. 2023, may be reviewed and advanced, in cases of compelling merit, up to the conclusion of the search process. The successful applicant will be expected to establish an independent program of research that garners extramural support, supervise and mentor graduate students, teach graduate and undergraduate classes, and participate in departmental service. Salary is negotiable. We prefer applicants who show evidence of outstanding research and teaching. Preferred area of specialization is social and cultural influences on health and health disparities. In particular, we seek scholars who study the role of basic social processes in health-relevant decisions, behaviors, and outcomes (e.g., health decision-making, disparities, barriers to access) using innovative experimental, survey, or and/or big data methods.
