The Neuroscience Program and Psychology Department invite applicants for a tenure track assistant professor position beginning August 2024. A Doctoral degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, or a closely-related discipline is required by the start date. The hired candidate must demonstrate: (1) a commitment to (a) undergraduate teaching, (b) the active involvement of undergraduate students in research, and (c) diversity, equity, and inclusion, and (2) expertise in behavioral neuroscience research. The candidate’s research should make use of a rat model, and the candidate should expect to use rats in both research and instructional labs. Teaching load is typically 6 courses per academic year, which may vary depending on advising of senior research projects, and might include courses in the Foundations of Neuroscience sequence, Behavioral Psychology, Research Methods, and upper-level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. All faculty are expected to participate in delivering college-wide first-year/sophomore seminars. The successful candidate will provide evidence of excellence in teaching, ongoing scholarship, and professional development.
