    ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN HEALTH PSYCHOLOGY: The Psychology Department at the University of Illinois Springfield invites qualified applications for an Assistant Professor position in Health Psychology (Clinical, Community, Occupational, or Public) beginning August 16, 2024. This is a full-time, on-campus, tenure-track academic appointment.

    Responsibilities

    Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses such as Health Psychology, Research Methods, Principles of Psychology, Senior Seminar, and courses in the candidate’s specialty area. Some courses will be expected to be taught in an online format. Normal teaching load is three courses per semester. UIS tenure-track faculty are expected to have an active scholarship/research program and be engaged in internal and external service activities.

    Qualifications

    Successful candidates are required to have a Ph.D. in Health Psychology (Clinical, Community, Occupational, or Public) from an accredited university prior to the start date. College teaching experience is required. Experience with teaching online and experience pursuing innovative and engaging teaching strategies are preferred. Demonstrated potential for scholarship/research in a specialty area and service activities is preferred. We seek candidates whose teaching, scholarship, and service have prepared them to contribute to our commitment of diversity, equity, and inclusion among a culturally diverse student and faculty body.
