The Department of Psychology at the University of the Pacific is seeking to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor for a position starting August 2024. The University of the Pacific is a private, liberal arts university in central California, near attractions such as the Bay area, Yosemite, and Lake Tahoe. Faculty in the Psychology department teach a 2-2 course load and are expected to actively engage undergraduate students in their research, maintain a strong research program, and participate in the department and university community through service. Qualified candidates should have a demonstrated commitment to diversity, experience teaching a diverse population, and be able to integrate diversity into the curriculum. The successful candidate will teach courses within general education, including developmental psychology and the College’s first-year seminar program, research methods, and upper-division lab courses within their area of expertise. An ideal candidate will have expertise in developmental-adjacent topics with focus on any age stage(s), and candidates with expertise in other areas (cognition, social psychology) may be considered.
