    Job Description

    Job Summary:

    The faculty member will teach undergraduate Psychology courses and graduate courses in Counseling & Psychology.  Additional responsibilities include student academic advising; engaging in university, department, and community committees and other kinds of service; and conducting research and scholarship activities. 

    This is a tenure-track position. 

    Summer appointment is not guaranteed and is contingent upon University need.

    Job Duties:

    • Teach undergraduate Psychology courses and/or graduate courses in Counseling and Psychology, including online and hybrid courses (12 workload credits per semester; 4 workload credits for each graduate course taught; 3 workload credits for each 3-credit undergraduate course taught).
    • Additional responsibilities include student academic advising; engaging in university, department and community committees and other kinds of service; and conducting research and scholarship activities.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Education & Experience:

    • Doctorate approved by the University and recognized by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools as appropriate to Psychology;
    • Ability in the discipline and clear promise of teaching excellence as evidenced in evaluation by peers, department head, and college dean;
    • A record of scholarly activity beyond that required for completion of the terminal degree.
    • Must possess the minimum credential standards of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), which include at least 18 graduate semester credit hours in the subject area or suitable approved justifications.

    Preferred Experience:

    • Doctorate approved by the University and recognized by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools as appropriate to the area pf Psychology;
    • Ability in the discipline and evidence of teaching excellence as evidenced in evaluation by peers, department head, and college dean
    • A strong record of scholarly activity in high quality peer-reviewed scholarly journals and conferences
