    The Department of Psychology at Tulane University (http://sse.tulane.edu/psyc) announces a Professor of Practice position with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2023. We seek and welcome candidate applications from historically underrepresented groups, such as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color), women, LGBTQ+, veterans, and those living with disabilities. Professors of Practice are regular non-tenure track teaching faculty with three-year renewable contracts and, after serving two three-year terms, are eligible for promotion to Senior Professor of Practice with five-year contracts. The ideal candidate will be committed to excellence in teaching as well as innovative and inclusive pedagogy. Area of expertise is open. Specific responsibilities of the nine-month appointment include teaching three courses each semester (experimental research methods, introductory psychology, and a course in the successful applicant’s area of expertise), advising psychology majors, and serving on departmental and university committees. There may be opportunities for summer teaching. Doctoral requirements must be completed by August 15, 2023. The Department of Psychology currently includes six senior professors of practice, one professor of practice and sixteen tenure-stream professors. Applicants should submit a letter of application, a curriculum vitae, an equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) statement, teaching philosophy, recent course evaluations, and contact information of three professional references through Interfolio.

    PhD in psychology or equivalent doctoral degree.
