    The Department of Psychology at the University of Washington invites applications for a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor (not tenure eligible) to teach Introduction to Psychology and Research Methods, as well as courses in one or more of the following areas: perspectives on race, class, and culture, statistics, cognition/perception, development, animal behavior, and/or translational psychology. UW teaching faculty should be engaged in teaching, research, and service. 

    This position has an anticipated start date of September 16, 2023, and will have a 9-month service period (September 16-June 15).

    Qualifications

    Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) in Psychology or a related discipline by the time of appointment.

    The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a record of high-quality teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate level, service to the department and university, and evidence of increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion in Psychology.

    Candidates must demonstrate a record of promoting the success of students from underrepresented groups in academia.

    Applications should include a curriculum vitae, the names and email addresses of three references who can be contacted for letters of recommendation, a teaching portfolio, including: a teaching statement that highlights teaching philosophy and examples of teaching strengths, example syllabi and assignments, and a diversity statement addressing leadership, commitment, and experiences with diversity, equity, and inclusion.
