As the need for integrating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) frameworks into the teaching of psychology has become increasingly urgent, it also has become apparent that we need to adjust focus, from increasing awareness of powered societal systems to empowering students as social change agents. In this e-book, psychology educators describe a broad range of pedagogical strategies and techniques for empowering students. The book is organized into four sections. Chapters in the first section describe ways to empower students-as-partners in DEI-themed courses. The second section highlights skill-building strategies, and the third section details various opportunities for students to apply their skills. Finally, chapters in the fourth section describe major class projects that take place in and with community partners.
