    Description

    The Department of Psychological Science at Albion College invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychological Science, to begin in August 2021. The position is a sabbatical replacement but does have the possibility of renewal. We are especially interested in candidates who will contribute to a campus climate that supports equity, diversity, and belonging.

    We seek a colleague who has demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching psychological science at the introductory and advanced undergraduate levels and is committed to teaching 3 courses per semester at a liberal arts college. Preference will be given to applicants with undergraduate teaching experience in Introduction to Psychology and/or research methods and statistics courses. Ph.D. at time of application is preferred, but ABDs will be considered. Albion College is an anti-racist institution. This position will actively promote diversity, belonging and equity through critical and compassionate communication and strategic outreach efforts to various students, faculty, and staff (e.g., historically under-represented, first-generation, undocumented and DACA students, LGBTQ students).

    Candidates with previous experience teaching psychology courses in a liberal arts college environment, teaching students from diverse backgrounds, and the desire to work in a dynamic environment are particularly encouraged to apply.
