BALL STATE UNIVERSITY
Full-time, fiscal year appointment begins on July 1, 2021.
Responsibilities: planning, directing, and coordinating the academic, operational, personnel, budgetary, and student activities of the department; implementing a vision that directs and motivates faculty; providing leadership in program development; promoting excellence in teaching, scholarly productivity, and service; collaborating with university programs, and professional societies, and increasing external funding. The usual academic load for the chair is six hours for administration, three hours for teaching, and three hours for research per semester, in a 12-month period. Chair term is three years with opportunity for renewals.
Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. in psychology or closely related field; five years of teaching experience in a psychology program; demonstrated record of research and publication in any area of psychology; and have earned tenure.
Preferred qualifications: teaching experience at both undergraduate and graduate levels in a psychology program or closely related field; demonstrated administrative experience at the department level; demonstrated record of research and publication in any area of psychology or closely related field adequate for an appointment as an associate or full professor; commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment; demonstrated record of application for external funding to support research and/or education and training in psychology or closely related field; and record of service at university, community, and/or professional levels.
