Penn State York invites applications for a faculty position, Assistant Professor in Social Psychology, (Tenure-Track, 36 weeks) to begin August 2020, or as negotiated. Responsibilities will include teaching three undergraduate courses each semester using traditional, hybrid and/or online delivery methods. The ideal candidate will be able to teach introductory and advanced social psychology courses. Additional consideration will be given to candidates willing to teach Industrial/Organizational or Health Psychology. For interested candidates, the potential to teach core psychology courses (introductory psychology, research methods, senior seminar) is also available. Teaching assignments may require teaching day and/or evening classes as needed. Publishing in refereed journals and participating in professional organizations and in course, curriculum, and program development is expected. Other responsibilities include advising students, providing career guidance, and participating in campus, University, and community service activities. Ph.D. in Psychology by time of appointment and demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and research. Evidence of potential in research and publication is expected. Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment is expected. Interest in active and collaborative learning, the instructional use of technology, and hybrid and online teaching is an advantage. Prior college-level and online teaching experience preferred. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important.
