The School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Indiana University Kokomo invites applications for a full time, 10-month, Assistant Professor of Psychology position beginning August 1, 2025. The successful candidate will teach General Psychology, Lifespan Development, and other courses in developmental psychology. The ability to teach courses in History and Systems of Psychology and/or the Psychology of Learning is strongly preferred. The ability to supervise undergraduate research is desirable, as is experience using teaching technologies. Responsibilities include teaching three courses per semester; establishing and maintaining an active, productive research program on a small liberal arts campus; engaging undergraduate students in research; contributing to the assessment of the psychology major and student learning outcomes; and engaging in campus initiatives to increase retention and enrollment, as well as being active in service to the department and engaging in service to the campus as a whole.
One of eight campuses of Indiana University, Indiana University Kokomo, is a comprehensive non-residential campus located 50 miles north of Indianapolis in Kokomo, Indiana, a city with a population of about 60,000. Basic Qualifications |
Requirements include a doctoral degree in psychology or a closely related field (ABD candidates will be considered), teaching experience at the undergraduate college level, and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in student-centered learning and collaboration. Preference will be given to candidates with an interest and/or experience in developing and teaching online and hybrid courses.
