The Psychology department at Purchase College, SUNY, invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position in cognitive development or related areas beginning Fall 2025. This position is renewable for a second year.

We welcome candidates with a specialty in cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, or cognitive development who can teach lower-level and upper-level undergraduate courses such as Cognitive Psychology, Sensation & Perception, Child Development, Cognitive Development and other specialized topics in the candidate’s area of expertise. The candidate should also be able to join the teaching rotation for some required courses (e.g., Introduction to Psychology, Research Methods, and Statistics).

The faculty teaching load is typically 6 courses per year (one course of which is the supervision of six senior project students each year). The successful candidate will be prepared to maintain an active research lab while providing research mentorship to undergraduate students from various backgrounds.
