    Position Details

    The Department of Psychology at The University of Tampa is seeking a diverse pool of applicants for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to begin August 2024.
     

    The University of Tampa is a medium-sized, comprehensive, residentially based private institution of 10,500 undergraduate and graduate students. The University is ideally situated on a beautiful 110-acre campus next to the Hillsborough River, adjacent to Tampa's dynamic central business district, a growing, vibrant, diverse metropolitan area.     The Psychology Department at The University of Tampa is a collegial department with 18 faculty and approximately 550 undergraduate majors. Undergraduates are offered a high-quality educational experience and are provided with training in the clinical, organizational, biopsychology, cognitive, social, and developmental subfields. Experiential education is emphasized with numerous opportunities for faculty-mentored student research, internships and service learning.


    Qualifications

    Candidates must have interest in and/or experience teaching; courses will include child psychology, general psychology, psychology in everyday life, and introductory research methods and statistics. Candidates may have the opportunity to teach and/or develop other courses in their specialty. Teaching responsibilities include three, 4-hour courses each semester. Other responsibilities will include maintaining an active record of scholarship, standard student advising, and committee service. Preference will be given to candidates with interest in and/or experience with mentoring undergraduate research. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology. College or university teaching experience and demonstrated scholarly activity in the field are preferred.
