    INSTRUCTOR IN HEALTH PSYCHOLOGY: The Psychology Department at the University of Illinois Springfield invites applications for an Instructor position beginning August 16, 2023. This is a full-time on-campus position and benefit-eligible non-tenured academic appointment. UIS faculty are expected to be available and engaged in the campus community to perform professional responsibilities as assigned.   

     

    Application deadline: March 6, 2023 

     

    Responsibilities: Teaching responsibilities would include undergraduate courses such as Health Psychology, Research Methods, Principles of Psychology (Introductory Psychology), and courses in the candidate’s specialty area. The candidate will be expected to teach some courses in an online format. Normal teaching load is four courses per semester. College teaching experience is preferred, and experience pursuing innovative and engaging teaching strategies is desirable. A demonstrated potential for participating in service is desirable. Opportunities to mentor undergraduate research are available. We seek candidates whose experience has prepared them to contribute to our commitment of diversity, equity, and inclusion among a culturally diverse student and faculty body. 

     

    Qualifications: The successful candidate should have a minimum M.A./M.S. in psychology with specialized training in Health Psychology from an accredited university prior to the start date.
