    Sessional Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream in Introduction to Psychology, Department of Psychology, Faculty of Health

    The Department of Psychology in the Faculty of Health at York University invites highly qualified applicants for a Sessional Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream position in Introduction to Psychology. This is a Contractually Limited Appointment (CLA) to the teaching stream for a three-year term to commence July 1, 2024.

    Core responsibilities of this position will involve teaching multiple sections of Introduction to Psychology, a 6-credit foundational course offered to students within the Faculty of Health and across York University.

    Candidate Qualifications

    Degree: Candidates must hold a PhD in Psychology prior to the start date of the appointment.

    Teaching:

    o A record or evident promise of excellence in teaching and dedication to students. Evidence of excellence or promise of excellence in Introduction to Psychology should be provided through the teaching statement; teaching accomplishments and pedagogical innovations, including in high priority areas such as experiential education and technology enhanced learning; and teaching evaluations. Preference will be given to applicants who have demonstrated excellence in teaching Introduction to Psychology, particularly large enrollment classes, within the last 3 years.

    o Suitability for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies, given that the position may involve graduate teaching and supervision.
