Shenandoah University’s College of Arts and Sciences is accepting applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Psychology beginning August 2020. This is a full-time benefited faculty position located at our main campus in Winchester, Virginia.
The Psychology Department welcomes applicants for a career-contract Assistant/Associate Professor position in cognitive psychology and/or neuroscience. Candidates will be expected to teach courses in General Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Sensation and Perception, and Research Methods, with preference given to candidates also able to teach new or additional existing courses in Psychology curriculum. The expected teaching load is four courses per semester, with course release available for scholarship. Shenandoah University prioritizes quality teaching, but a research program incorporating undergraduates is encouraged. All faculty at Shenandoah University are expected to perform community and university service, serve as student advisors, and continue as active scholars in their fields.
A Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology or related field is required by the appointment date. (A.B.D. acceptable if Ph.D. earned by start date). Candidates should have experience teaching undergraduate psychology.
