    Below is a description for both positions:

    The Ithaca College Department of Psychology invites applications for two tenure-eligible Assistant Professor positions to begin August 2020. 

    Developmental Psychology: One position will focus on human development. Teaching responsibilities will include a developmental psychology research course, a lecture course in developmental psychology, Statistics, a psychology capstone course, with other courses as needed. The successful applicant will have dedicated laboratory space to establish a research program that will include undergraduate students. The URL for the Developmental Psychology position is

     Applied Psychology: One position will focus on applied psychology. Teaching responsibilities

    will include Statistics and Research Methods, and other courses as needed. The specific area of expertise within applied psychology is open, but we are especially interested in individuals working in I/O Psychology, Health Psychology, or Forensic Psychology. The successful applicant will have dedicated laboratory space to establish a research program, which may include the participation of undergraduate students as collaborators.     Preference will be given to individuals who hold a Ph.D. or Psy. D. in Psychology or a related field; however, candidates nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) with a defense expected prior to August 2020 will also be considered.

     Our Department

    The Psychology Department provides a supportive atmosphere with a dedicated, accessible faculty made up of active scholars in the field and with a passion for teaching. Our department seeks to foster in our students the growth of intellectual curiosity, an understanding of scientific methodology, critical thinking, and an appreciation and respect for diverse ideas and cultures.

     The Department is looking for candidates who have the potential for teaching excellence and a genuine interest in teaching and mentoring students.
