JOB TITLE: Assistant/Associate/Full Professor
SUPERVISOR: Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs
EFFORT: Full Time or Part Time (Exempt)
EDUCATION: PsyD or PhD
Salary: $90,000 - $110,000
California Northstate University is dedicated to educating, developing, and training the next generation of healthcare professionals. It is comprised of a College of Pharmacy, College of Medicine, College of Health Sciences, College of Graduate Studies, College of Psychology, and the College of Dental Medicine. With the recent announcement that California Northstate is building its own medical facility, now is the time to join this growing and collaborative institution. The College of Psychology is accredited by BPPE, WASC and APA. We are an in-person program and do not provide online options to students or faculty. As our program continues to grow, we are looking for professors to teach a wide variety of classes in the next academic year. For more information on our program please go to psychology.cnsu.edu.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The full-time faculty are responsible for (part time have reduced responsibilities):
1. Preparing syllabi that follow both APA and WASC guidelines (assistance is provided)
2. Teaching courses that are both engaging and informative
3. Maintaining good working relationships with fellow faculty and administration
4. Communicating effectively with students regarding course expectations and performance
5. Acting as an Academic Advisor
6. Chairing/participating in dissertation committees
8. Attending required departmental and University committee meetings
9. Maintaining current and relevant subject matter expertise in the topics covered in their course
10. Having fundamental knowledge of effective learning strategies and methodologies
11. Help in preparing for any accreditation requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have:
1. A PhD or PsyD in counseling or clinical psychology
2. Experience in teaching and/or research
3. The ability to speak and write clearly and concisely
4. Willingness to work with a diverse faculty and student body of varying interests and orientations
Preferred:
1. Graduate of an APA accredited program
2. Previous graduate teaching experience
3. Licensed as a psychologist in California
