    Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, tenure track Assistant Professor of Psychology faculty position in the Department of Psychological Science to begin August 2023.

    The area of specialization is Diversity, and high priority will be given to those who can teach courses related to their specialization (e.g., Ethnic Minority Psychology, Psychology of Gender) and research methods and/or statistics.

    Strong scholarship, along with a commitment to excellence in teaching and engagement, is expected of all faculty members in the Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences at KSU.

    Responsibilities
    The Department of Psychological Science at Kennesaw State University is seeking applicants with a demonstrated record of impactful, applied research in the area of diversity, broadly defined, teaching excellence, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

    Faculty are expected to teach undergraduate courses in their area of specialization, as well as courses that are part of the required core in the psychology major. Workload is negotiable based on research agenda and commitment to extramural funding. Faculty in the department have a strong commitment to undergraduate education, mentorship, and creating inclusive learning environments for students with diverse backgrounds. Service to the department, college, university, and/or profession is expected.

    Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines. Faculty in the Department teach in a variety of modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online.

    Required Qualifications

    • An earned terminal degree/doctorate, or the foreign equivalent, in psychology or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate hours in psychology is required by August 1, 2023.
    • Demonstrated record of research and scholarship within the discipline and diversity.
    • A record of effective university teaching.
    • Evidence of promoting student success.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience teaching a culturally and an ethnically diverse community.
    • Experience mentoring undergraduate and/or graduate students.
    • Experience teaching in different modalities (i.e., face-to-face, online, hybrid).
