Anticipated Opening for August 15:
The Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program and Department of Psychology at the Long Island University/Post Campus is seeking applications for a Director of its Psychological Services Center (PSC). This position is a 12-month appointment beginning August 15, 2019. Candidates must have a Ph.D. or PsyD. from an APA-accredited clinical psychology program and be a licensed psychologist in New York. Responsibilities include administration of the PSC, collaboration with the program core faculty, overseeing the training of second year doctoral student therapists, supervising therapy by graduate students in the PSC, integrating and monitoring the work of community supervisors, and community outreach to promote the PSC to local agencies. In addition, interest and experience in teaching graduate courses and supervising assessment cases would be valuable. The PSC Director also plays an important role in enhancing students’ training with diverse clients. Research interests and experiences are a plus but not required. Opportunities for interdisciplinary consultation (e.g., with our Speech and Hearing Center) are possible. The PSC is a training site for the PsyD Clinical Psychology Program, which is a dual orientation program, training students in both cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic therapies. The center serves children, adolescents, and adult clients from the community. The program endorses a practitioner-scholar training model and is accredited by the American Psychological Association.
Review of complete applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Salary will be commensurate with experience, yet competitive and the position includes benefits. To apply, submit a cover letter of interest, curriculum vitae, and complete contact information for at least three references to Hilary Vidair, Ph.D. at firstname.lastname@example.org
