    Primary Function: The Assistant Professor, Psychology (Two Positions) is primarily responsible for teaching a variety of courses in the discipline of psychology. Specifically, these courses include five psychology classes per semester. The first opening is for someone with a background in general psychology with an interest and ability to teach any of our course offerings. The second position is for someone with a background in developmental psychology as well as research methodology and statistics. Based on the background and interests of the selected candidate and discipline enrollment growth trends, teaching assignments may include any psychology course in our catalog, particularly those relevant to Transfer Associate Arts degree (AA-T) courses.

    Minimum Qualifications: Must meet one of the sets of qualifications listed under a) through c):

    a) A Master’s degree in psychology.
    b) A Master’s degree in counseling, sociology, statistics, neuroscience, or social work AND a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
    c) A combination of education and experience that is at least the equivalent of the qualifications in either a) or b) above. You must complete and attach the Application for Equivalency form (www.palomar.edu/hr/equivalency-app/), if you do not possess the specific minimum qualifications as stated above, which includes degrees that have not been awarded at the time of submitting the application.
