    We invite applications for an assistant professor, tenure-track position of Psychology in Counseling/Clinical psychology   beginning Fall 2018. Practical experience and graduation from an APA accredited program is preferred.

    Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in Counseling or Clinical Psychology, but ABDs completing this academic year will be considered. Candidates should be committed to both undergraduate and graduate teaching. Teaching assignments are negotiable and may include a variety of courses across the curriculum such as psychopharmacology, group therapy, career assessment/counseling, ethics and professional issues, and/or multicultural counseling. Texas A&M University-Kingsville is primarily a teaching institution; however, research productivity, and pursuit of external funding is expected. Area of research concentration/expertise is open. Salary is competitive. Candidates must have 18 graduate hours for every field in which they will teach. Tenure and promotion are based on teaching, research, and service performance. 

    Texas A&M University- Kingsville is part of the Texas A&M University System and is located in Kingsville, Texas, which is about 40 miles southwest of Corpus Christi.  The university has an enrollment greater than 9000 students, of which approximately 65% are of Hispanic origin.  For more information on the university, see and the department website at
