Excellence in Teaching Awards
Call for Nominations for the 2009 Awards
The Society for the Teaching of Psychology announces its 2009 program of awards for outstanding teachers of psychology. Teaching awards of $750 and a plaque will be bestowed for outstanding performance in each of five categories: four-year college or university (Robert S. Daniel Award), two-year college (Wayne Weiten Award), high school (Mary Margaret Moffett Memorial Award), first 5 years of full-time teaching at any level (Jane S. Halonen Award), and graduate student (Wilbert J. McKeachie Award). The deadline for submissions is January 16, 2009.
Renominations and self-nominations are acceptable. Submission of materials, queries, and requests for nomination criteria may be sent to the Chair of the Teaching Awards Committee:

The Fund for Excellence in the Teaching of Psychology
The Fund for Excellence in the Teaching of Psychology provides financial support for the teaching awards program administered by the Society for the Teaching of Psychology. At the annual APA convention, the Society honors four exemplary teachers by giving the following awards:
- Robert S. Daniel Teaching Excellence Award (4 Year College or University)
- Wayne Weiten Teaching Excellence Award (2 Year College Award)
- Mary Margaret Moffett Memorial Teaching Excellence Award (High School)
- Early Career Teaching Award (1st five years of full-time teaching at any level)
- Wilbert J. McKeachie Teaching Excellence Award (Graduate Students)
The Fund's assets are derived entirely from donations from generous individuals and organizations that seek to promote and recognize excellence in the teaching of psychology. Contributions are encouraged and may be sent to:
