The preferred candidates will have a completed Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Psychology, or related field. Postdoctoral experience with independent research and university-level teaching is also preferred.

The department values both teaching and research and the typical teaching load is three courses per semester. Candidates are expected to have a strong research agenda, to participate in University service, and to advise undergraduates. We welcome candidates who are innovative in their pedagogical and research approaches to investigating neuroscience.

Faculty for both positions will be expected to teach Cellular/Molecular Neuroscience, Behavioral Neuroscience, the Behavioral Neuroscience Advanced Research Methods Capstone, and lower-division Research Methods and Statistics courses.  We are also looking for candidates who could teach Behavior Genetics, Evolutionary Psychology, Sensation and Perception, Cognitive Neuroscience, or Biopsychology.

The departmental expectation is that the candidate’s research program would involve undergraduate students as research assistants and collaborators, and primarily be conducted on campus. Research using invertebrate, rat, fish, or computational models is preferred. Candidates with experience working with and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds are especially welcome to apply.
